The 2023 CCCA Annual Meeting

The 2023 CCCA Annual Meeting
March 29 through April 2, 2023
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Save the dates for the 2023 CCCA Annual Meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, March 29 through Sunday, April 2, 2023 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our host hotel is the Ritz-Carlton, just steps away from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which is familiar to movie fans as the location of Sylvester Stallone’s triumphant run up the steps in the motion picture “Rocky.” Events planned include museum tours, car collections, Club business meetings, Classic Car judging and traditional CCCA awards presentations.

Plan to arrive no later than Wednesday, March 29 and take part of the Welcoming Party at the hotel for drinks, heavy hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to catch up with CCCA members.

Thursday morning is reserved for official Club business including the general membership meeting and announcement of the incoming and outgoing members of the Board of Directors. Two excellent automobile collections are scheduled for the day: the impressive Bulgari Collection where we will have lunch, followed by a visit to the equally impressive Ross Myers’ Collection. The evening is open for dinner on your own and the opportunity to explore some great dining options near the hotel.

Friday begins with more Club business in meetings covering Classifications, Regional Relations, Publications, the CCCA Museum and the CCCA Education Foundation. The afternoon, will be spent exploring Philadelphia on tours arranged to include historical sites like the Liberty Bell.

Cocktails and dinner Friday evening take place at the Union League of Philadelphia, just next door to our host hotel. The Union League is a private club founded in 1862 celebrating and promoting the policies of President Abraham Lincoln.

Saturday is all about Classic Cars and CCCA traditions. Classics will be displayed and judged at the famous Simeone Museum (described below) and one car shown will emerge as the Warshawsky Best of Show Classic, named and honored later that evening.

The Judges and tabulators meeting will take place early that morning at the Museum followed by the Museum Trustees meeting. Enjoy our Classics on display or tour cars on display at the Museum. Later in the day, a technical seminar will be staged. Our evening banquet will serve as the backdrop for the combined Classic Car awards presentation and the Regional awards presentation. This all takes place at the worldrenowned Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum. Founded by the late neurosurgeon and CCCA member Dr. Frederick Simeone, the collection is home to more than 75 historically significant automobiles sharing the common theme of “The Spirit of Competition.”

Sunday, April 2 is an optional day if you can stay through Sunday. Steve Babinsky has invited us to his impressive collection for a tour and lunch in nearby New Jersey. Transportation to and from will be provided for our day together.

Event and car registration forms will be available beginning November 1, 2022 on the CCCA website and in an eBlast to be sent to all members on that date. The forms will also be included in the October / November issue of the Bulletin.

Hotel reservations at the Ritz-Carlton will be able to be made on and after November 1, 2022 through February 15, 2023 based upon availability, so make your reservations early. You will be provided with a phone number and code to use when making your reservations. The very favorable hotel room rate of $329 plus tax has been negotiated.

Please join us to experience the traditional CCCA camaraderie in a most historic location. The Philadelphia International Airport is a major route destination for most airlines.
