The 24th Santa Barbara Concours d’Elegance

The 24th Annual Santa Barbara Concours d'Elegance, will display some 200 of the world's finest automobiles on a spectacular site of Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club on Sunday starting at 10 am. There will be approximately 20 classes of cars judged during the event in their individual classes but all vying for that coveted "Best of Show" award.

The weekend event kicks off with the Salute to the Mille Miglia wine country tour on Friday morning with a gourmet lunch at an elegant winery and a champagne celebration at the finish. The Concours d’Italiano brings an Italian flair to the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club on Saturday with great Italian cars displayed accompanied by Italian food and music for guests to enjoy.

Also on Saturday is the Santa Barbara American Classics Auto Show with vintage American cars showcased. Stroll around to the sounds of the Oldies with the aroma of hot dogs and hamburgers grilling. Plus you can attend the Vino d’Elegance, a Santa Barbara Wine Festival where wineries gather for a tasting and celebration benefiting the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County.

Canadian TV Production Company is Looking for Amazing Classic Car Stories for New TV Series

We are a Montreal based Production company doing a series for the History channel. We are looking for CURRENT emotional/unique/amazing stories about classic cars and their owners in Canada. Examples can include (but would not be limited to):

  • A restoration costing your life savings and/or your marriage
  • Having to abandon a restoration midway due to an unforeseen financial or physical circumstance
  • Inheriting a classic car but not knowing the first thing about restoration
  • An old junker in the barn that you want evaluated
  • Being ripped off by a restorer
  • A surprise restoration that's behind schedule

As well as this we are looking for interesting personal stories. If  you or someone you know has a story to tell, they'd love to hear it.

2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

George Holman's 1930 Cadillac 452 Sport Phaeton, Fleetwood was awarded the Classic Car Club of America Trophy at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Class C-1: American Classic Open

The 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, took place on Sunday, August 15 featuring Alfa Romeo, Pierce-Arrow and Jaguar and celebrated the designs of Ghia.

The event also welcomed Hot Rods, particularly lakesters and Bonneville racers, back to the show field, as well as Indy Cars, and our second annual class of motorcycles focused on classic American bikes built prior to 1960.

Coverage of this event is slated for the Winter (December) issue of The Classic Car.
