Our tour is centered in the rural horse country of Virginia, and we will tour on two lane country roads connecting grand houses and small 19th century towns. All effort will be made to avoid four lane modern sprawl. Think horse farms, taverns, and vineyards!
Sunday, Sept. 15: gather in Orange, Virginia at our tour hotels:

For Friday-Saturday night Willow Grove guests have to switch to Roundhill Inn because Willow Grove is booked out for a wedding.
Sunday Welcome Reception at Willow Grove: 6 – 8 pm
Monday, Sept. 16: Skyline Drive to Afton Mountain and descent on Rt. 250 to Crozet and Langhorne Country:
- Mirador and Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Lunch at Mount Fair Farm, Crozet and Gallison Hall (125 miles)
Tuesday, Sept. 17: Middleburg-Upperville (125 miles) — Goodstone Inn lunch
- Stops at Middleburg and Upperville and driving tours of famous horse farms.
Wednesday, Sept. 18: Montpelier Tour and photo-op in front of house:
- Drive by Somerset farms to Barboursville Vineyard for lunch and tasting. (100 miles)
Thursday, Sept. 19: Drive to Staunton, Virginia. (140 miles)
- Visit with Antique and Classic Automobiles, ex Bruce Elder. Now owned by Brian Rhodes. Lunch will be in various restaurants in Historic Staunton.
Friday, Sept. 20: Tour of Orange County (60 miles)
- Woodberry Forrest School, Shackelford House, Bloomsbury House near Orange. Lunch and shopping in Gordonsville. Civil War Hospital in afternoon.
Our final evening together will be the Banquet with the Presidents at James Madison’s Montpelier.
Activity Fee: $650 per person - includes 6 meals and all events.
