Invitation

You are invited to participate in the Classic Car Club of America Museum Concours, the "Grand Experience" featuring all Franklins, Marmons, Stutz and CCCA Full ClassicsTM.  The dates are May 31, June 1 & 2, 2002.  The location is the Classic Car Club of America Museum on the grounds of the Gilmore Car Museum located near Kalamazoo.  The Grand Experience Concours will be on Sunday, June 2nd plus much, much more.  

 

We begin the week-end, Friday with a mystery driving tour on the beautiful back roads of Barry County, followed by a "come as you are" Barbecue on the Museum grounds.  Saturday events include a National CCCA Grand Classic for Classic Car Club of America members that wish to have their Full Classic™ judged or exhibited, for others a bus trip to the magnificent Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids and the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library.  Or, stay at the Museum and kick tires, visit the Art Tent where Tom Hale will present an introduction to Automotive Art, exploring the collections in the Museum Barns, visit the Flea Market, have a driving Experience in one of the Museum cars.  Saturday evening Banquet will feature an Automobile Invitational Art Auction during the cocktail hour at the Radisson Plaza Hotel.  After dinner Beverly Rae Kimes, renowned Automobile writer and historian will say a few words and the trophies for the Grand Classic will be awarded.  Sunday is The Grand Experience.  Concours judging takes place in the morning and will be concluded with the awarding of trophies on the grounds in drive-by fashion in the afternoon.  Following the drive-by entrants have been invited to be the guests of Bill and Barbara Parfet at their home on Gull Lake for a farewell supper before heading home.

CCCA Museum "Grand Experience" Honorary Awards

Honorary trophies, as follows, will be presented, at the discretion of the judges, to the owners of registered cars.  Classes may be combined, deleted or divided and separate Classes for individual makes of cars may be established at the discretion of the Concours Committee subject to registration.  The Grand Experience Classes are as follows:

Rules of Entry

A recent photograph must accompany your entry.  The Concours Committee reserves the right to reject any automobile which does not meet the standards of the 2002 Classic Car Club Museum Concours.  Cars must be in place before 9:00 A.M. on June 2, 2002, and remain in position on the Concours display area until the final award is presented.  Porcelain license plates will be presented to the first 100 entrants as a souvenir of the Concours.  (Car attendance at the Experience is also required.)  In order to have the plate displayed on your entry during the event, we must receive your entry form by April 15th.  The display of "For Sale' or other commercial signs will not be allowed.  Videos and photography for commercial purposes is not permitted.

Event Information

 

This is a special invitation to all Classic Car Club of America Members, Franklin owners, Marmon owners and Stutz owners to bring your cars (even if not entered in the Grand Experience on Sunday or Grand Classic on Saturday) for a week-end to play at the Museum.  Friday afternoon mystery tour will take the picturesque back roads in Barry County, stopping at points of interest in route.  We will return to the Museum in time for cocktails and a Barbecue and to greet others just arriving. Saturday a National CCCA Judging Meet will take place on the grounds.  For those not involved a bus trip to Grand Rapids has been arranged to visit the Meijer Gardens and Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. For those remaining Hickory Corners will have fun watching the workings of the Grand Classic.  At the Art Tent, Tom Hale will give an introduction to Automotive Art, the Museum Barns will be open for viewing the collections and several Classic and Antique cars will be available for driving experiences for a nominal donation.  Saturday's Banquet and Art Auction will be at the Radisson.  The Grand Classic Awards will also be presented after dinner. Beverly Rae Kimes, noted automobile author, historian and Grand Marshall will also give some insight into her profession.  On Sunday, is the excitement of the Grand Experience Concour, the awarding of trophies, the drive-by, and this year a farewell supper. There will be a special display area for all Classics and Franklins, Marmons, Stutz Saturday and Sunday for those not entered in the Grand Experience or Grand Classic.

Release of Liability

In consideration of participation by the undersigned in the Classic Car Club Museum Concours (the event) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 31, June 1 & 2, 2002 the undersigned agrees to forever hold the Classic Car Club of America Museum, the Gilmore Car Museum, the Classic Car Club of America, the Franklin, Marmon, Stutz Clubs, the members, directors, trustees, agents, employees and assigns, harmless and indemnify them against and from all claims, demands, losses, costs, damages, suits, judgments, penalties, expenses, or liability of any kind, or nature whatsoever arising directly, or indirectly out of, or in connection with participation in the Event, and further release and discharge each of the persons and entities referred to herein of and from any and all known claims, demands, losses and/or liability of any kind or nature resulting from any acts of the aforesaid in connection with the Events.  In addition, the undersigned will personally read the rules under which said Event will be conducted and will abide by said regulations.

 

The undersigned authorizes the Event to use the photograph(s) and information about the motorcar accompanying each entry for publicity purposes, and certifies such use does not infringe upon the rights of any third party, that the right is granted free and clear; and that the entrant has full power to grant such rights.  The undersigned further consents to the use of photographs or depictions of him/her or his/her automobile(s) in any other media, and further agrees that any such media presentation may be used for commercial purposes and warrants that any photographs, video or motion picture films of the Classic Car Club Museum Concours for commercial use must have prior written permission from the Concours Executive Committee.
